FACILITY DESCRIPTION

Omega Medical Research’s office is located in Warwick, Rhode Island and is conveniently situated approximately 5 miles from the State airport. OMR’s 4,000 square foot facility consists of:

  • 4 exam rooms
  • 1 large treatment room
  • Large Monitor area to host up to 4 monitors, equipped with phones, fax, copier, high speed internet access and modems
  • Conference room
  • Kitchen
  • Dedicated Drug Storage room with keypad entry, temperature monitored. Access by Research Coordinators only.

OMR also has access to ancillary services located in the same medical building, including:

  • Large Allergy and Asthma practice located in the same suite as OMR
  • Large Cardiology Practice, with echocardiography, cardiac stress testing, certified vascular laboratory, and Holter monitoring on site

MEDICAL MANAGEMENT
Johnna A. Pezzullo, RN, BSN
President

With over 12 years of clinical research experience, Ms. Pezzullo serves as the Executive Director of Omega Medical Research, overseeing the daily operations, and serving as marketing liaison to the community and physicians.

Lynne A. Haughey, RN, MSN, FNP
Vice President

Ms. Haughey is trained as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, in both Pediatrics and Adult Primary Care Medicine, and has over 9 years of clinical research experience. She has served as sub investigator for a wide range of research studies, provides assistance with the daily operations at Omega and oversees the clinical team of Study Coordinators.

David L. Fried, MD
Medical Director and Primary Principal Investigator

Dr. Fried has conducted and supervised over 150 clinical trials and frequently lectures for leading pharmaceutical companies. He is a board certified Internist and a Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at Brown University and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island.

Omega Medical Research is located within a 20-mile radius of Brown University Affiliated Medical Centers, allowing for the opportunity to work closely with these and other leading organizations.

An ongoing and active relationship is also maintained with southern New England’s largest primary care physicians groups. Omega is also affiliated with an active urgent care facility and an overnight stay unit for sleep or kinetics studies.

  • As a multi-research organization with extensive physician and institutional alliances, Omega has the ability to recruit and retain a broad range of patients from several geographic areas and always achieves or exceeds patient enrollment requirements.
  • Dr. Fried maintains a private practice of approximately 6000 patients.
  • Omega’s affiliations with over 30 primary care physicians and over 25 various subspecialty physician practices provide access to databases of over 200,000 patients along with access to a medical center of over 100 physicians as well as an urgent care treatment center in the same building.
