CENTER OVERVIEW

University Clinical Research, Inc. (UCR) is an independent, multi-specialty research site located in sunny South Florida (7 miles from Ft. Lauderdale Airport) which has a diverse population of over 4,000,000 people.  Associated with a large internal medicine and family practice, UCR has conducted over 400 clinical studies since 1984 in a variety of therapeutic areas such as:

UCR FACTS
  • UCR is housed in a 5,500 square foot modern facility with 12 examination rooms, an on-site laboratory, secured and temperature controlled long-term storage, and a double-locked and temperature controlled drug storage closet
  • UCR is integrated with a large private practice providing access to a 17,000 patient database and 8,000 active charts
  • Maintains a computerized patient tracking system database
  • Experienced in RDE (remote data entry) utilizing DSL and ISDN lines
  • Utilizes unique cost-effective marketing strategies for aggressive recruitment of study patients
  • Quality assurance procedures ensure clean data and clean audits by both the sponsors and the FDA
  • Employ the services of both a local IRB as well as a central IRB, depending upon the Sponsor's needs
MEDICAL MANAGEMENT
Larry L. Gilderman, DO
Medical Director/Principal Investigator/Sub-investigator

Dr. Gilderman founded UCR in 1984 and has been board certified in Family Practice since 1978.  He is well recognized throughout South Florida as a leader in both clinical research and patient care.  He is a member of Memorial Health System's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Dr. Gilderman has also served as Chief of Family Practice at Memorial Health System (comprised of three hospitals that serve over 800,000 people with a staff of over 500 physicians), Chief of Staff for Memorial Health System, and a Management Service Organization integrated with many practices in the area. 

 

Andrea J. Ramsay, MD
Principal Investigator/Sub-investigator

Dr. Ramsay is a trusted board certified Family Practice physician with extensive and loyal patients.  She has a large female population and has conducted several "Women's Health" studies.  Dr. Ramsay is also certified in Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support.  She speaks Spanish and lectures widely in the community and regularly donates her time to charity.  She has conducted over 200 clinical studies since joining the practice in 1999.   

Jose Molina, PA

Sub-investigator

Jose specializes in Family Practice and joined UCR in 1999.  His committment to patients and research is well recognized in our community.  He has successfully contributed to many clinical trials.
