Coastal Clinical Research, Inc. (CCR) is a dedicated, independently owned, multi-specialty clinical research center located in the city of Mobile, Alabama. Founded in 1987, CCR’s team is committed to providing the highest quality Phase II, III, and IV clinical research services to the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries.

President

Kathy M. Welch, serving as Founder and President of Coastal Clinical Research, Inc. has played a significant role in the growth and development since the company’s inception in 1987. Receiving a Bachelor Degree in Science in 1981, her focus of study was in Nutrition and Foods. In 1986, Ms. Welch graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Masters of Public Health. As a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, she has managed and conducted over 500 clinical research trials in a wide range of specialties with most major pharmaceutical companies. Ms. Welch handles all contracts and budgets exclusively, allowing negotiations to be assembled and processed within 1-3 days. Professional affiliations include: Association of Clinical Research Pharmacology (ACRP), American Dietetic Association (ADA), and Drug Information Association (DIA).

  • Mobile is located in Southwest Alabama at the head of Mobile Bay, thirtyone miles from the Gulf of Mexico. It is the second largest metropolitan area in Alabama and the State's major port.
  • Our community in Mobile Bay Area is comprised of Mobile County, the City of Mobile, and Baldwin County that totals over 558,139 residents.
  • Having a unique geographical location on the Gulf Coast, CCR is also able to recruit volunteers from the Mississippi and Florida
